Xia'he in the Western province of Gansu in China is home of one of the most important Tibetan monasteries outside Tibet; this impressive complex of buildings is surrounded by covered alleys with rows and rows of prayers wheels which the Tibetan pilgrims turn at all hours of the day walking clockwise around the monastery.

Before hitting the big time with "H.R. Pufnstuf," puppeteers Sid and Marty Krofft lent their psychedelic touch to the costume design and sets of this late '60s Hanna-Barbera children's series, a laugh track-laden collection of live-action buffoonery and animated segments for undiscerning young minds. Whether in their crazy clubhouse or out cavorting among the public, costumed animal hosts Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper and Snorky would engage in all manner of harmless nonsense, and even strap on musical instruments to perform hippie-dippie rock numbers. The show remains firmly lodged in the memories of baby boomers, as well as its theme tune, "The Tra La La Song (One Banana, Two Banana)."
