United States Military Advisory Group (MilGroup), located in the capital of the country, San Salvador, and its advisors who were located throughout the military districts of El Salvador. They were responsible for the training and the expansion of the El Salvadoran Armed Forces (ESAF). in the initial group were Army Special Forces soldiers who had been specifically trained for that type of operation.
