Beloved Wooden Salad Bowls Magnet

Wooden Salad Bowls in Watercolor Pencil by Conni Schaftenaar. I love wood. The colors, the grains, the lovely shapes one can make from wood are endlessly fascinating. My husband is also a wood fanatic. We both like to cook and we value good tools. Somehow, in our separate and married younger days, we separately and together acquired some wooden bowls, some of which I'm pretty sure were hand-made. We use them for salads, popcorn, fresh fruit. I love the warm color tones, the smooth texture, the flaws and marks that have occurred over decades of use in our kitchen. Doing this drawing has inspired me to do a couple more pieces that celebrate some of our wooden kitchen accoutrements!
