Povitruli are mystical creatures connected to the wind element. They're light and float in the air without ever touching the ground. Often portrayed as beautiful beings, they can change from a young to an old appearance and back again. Povitruli enjoy assisting lovers in their romantic endeavors. Originating from the Carpathian region in Ukraine, folklore suggests that if someone dreams of their beloved for nine consecutive nights, on the tenth night, a Povitrulya will descend from the sky in the image of their loved one. Shepherds, known for never refusing anything to their airborne mistresses, are said to keep their sheep safe with Povitruli's help.
