Andy's Gang, 1950's TV show. Andy's Gang was a children's television program broadcast on NBC from August 20, 1955, to December 31, 1960, hosted by the actor Andy Devine. It was the successor to the radio and television program Smilin' Ed McConnell and His Buster Brown Gang (later shortened to Smilin' Ed's Gang). Regular characters were Midnight the Cat, Squeeky the Mouse (portrayed by a hamster) and, of course, our favorite, the mischievous Froggy the Gremlin.

Captain Video and his Video Rangers was America's first science fiction television series. It aired on the DuMont Television Network from 1949 to 1955. Starting in 1952 scripts began being written by such major science fiction writers active at the time as Damon Knight, James Blish, Jack Vance, and Arthur C. Clarke. Other well-known authors who occasionally wrote for the program included Isaac Asimov, Cyril M. Kornbluth, Walter M. Miller, Jr. and Robert Sheckley. The series is featured on an episodes of The Honeymooners, "TV or Not TV". Honeymooners character Ed Norton is a fan of the show.

Captain Midnight was an adventure franchise first broadcast as a radio serial from 1938 to 1949. The character's popularity throughout the 1940s and into the mid-1950s extended to serial films (1942), a syndicated newspaper strip (1942-late 1940s), a comic book (1942–1948), and a television show (1954–1956). The Captain Midnight TV series, starring Richard Webb, began in 1954 on CBS, continuing for 39 episodes until January 21, 1956. Viewers could send away for a special decoder device and membership kit by including the inner wax seal from a jar of Ovaltine to "Capt. Midnight, Box P, Chicago 77, Illinois".
