Description: The Kansas City Kings were a former NBA basketball team originating as the Rochester Seagrams in 1923 before becoming a part of the NBA as the Rochester Royals in 1945, then eventually the Cleveland Royals before relocating to Kansas City in 1972, changing their team name to the Kings, as to not create confusion with the Kansas City Royals MLB baseball team, and officially starting as the Kansas City-Omaha Kings and eventually settling as just Kansas City Kings in 1975.
