St Mary's Lighthouse and island lie north of the River Tyne and Whitley Bay on the North Sea coast of England. The lighthouse is no longer in operation and is now a museum and tourist attraction which is only accessible at low tide when the causeway is not under water. The image was taken at High Tide on a very cold December morning shortly after sunrise with a small flock of sanderlings feeding at the water's edge on a small bit of exposed sand.

The image was taken on a warm October morning shortly after sunrise with with the light from the newly risen sun shining from the right emphasising the ripples in the wet sand left by the retreating tide and reflecting the light. Just after sunrise on a January morning with a red glow from the pastel colours in the sky, made for an unusual shot of St Mary's Island and its reflection in the rockpools left by the receding tide. The island is situated near the town of Whitley Bay on the North East coast of England and is cut off from the mainland each high tide as the water covers the causeway at that time.

A digital oil painting of St Mary's Church in the village of Cholsey, Oxfordshire, just south of the market town of Wallingford. The church has a long history, apparently being originally built as an abbey church by King Ethelred in about 986. It received a mention in the Domesday Book following the Norman Conquest and they extensively rebuilt it. The churchyard is famous as the last resting place of crime writer Agatha Christie who lived in Cholsey for the last 40 years of her life.

The Norman church of St Nicholas at Ibstone, Buckinghamshire, England. This old church sits surrounded by trees on the edge of the village of Ibstone in Buckinghamshire. Ibstone itself, which is a mere six miles from High Wycombe, is reached through narrow country roads and lies on the top of a hillside in the Chilterns overlooking wooded valleys. This Grade II listed church has a nave which dates from the 12thC, as do the chancel arch and font. The 15thC pulpit is thought to be one of the first in the country (priests stood on the chancel steps before that). Standing under the trees and looking over the streams and sluices in the water meadows at St Cross near Winchester, Hampshire. Across the lush green grass lies the Hospital of St Cross, its almshouses providing accommodation fror 25 elderly men. Rising above is the magnificent Norman tower of the church, echoing that of Winchester Cathedral a short distance away.

The church was built by the Latin Archbishop of Lviv Saint Joseph Bilczewski in the years 1903-1911 as a parish church for the city's dynamically developing western suburb. It was designed by Polish architect Teodor Talowski,1 in the neo-Gothic style, similar to that of the Votive Church in Vienna. St. Elisabeth's, placed on a hill which is the watershed of the Baltic and Black Sea, with its facade flanked by two tall towers and an 85 m belfry on the north side with imposing spires was envisioned as Lviv's first landmark to greet visitors arriving in the city by train. An horse and cart turn the corner at Melbourne's iconic Flinders St Station on a beautiful sunny day. Lens flare from the sun accentuates a feeling of warmth and heat.

Built in the 14th century, St Peters church in Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire (UK) was originally a college for six secular canons. It has lantern tower, which is unusual for the area (they are normally normally associated with churches on the Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire fens). When it was built the valley between the neighbouring town was un-drained and prone to heavy fogs, and so fires would be lit in the lantern to guide travellers across the Nene and marshes.
