Chalk Magnets
Description: A majestic gray elephant stands beneath striped circus tents, its enormous back covered in chalk-like arithmetic figures. A curious boy watches nearby as the animal lowers its trunk into a bucket, with a chain around one leg. Warm ochre, deep teal and faded red evoke an old-fashioned traveling carnival, while ornate lettering gives the scene the playful charm of a vintage illustrated poster.
Description: “Bruadarach” is a Scottish Gaelic word meaning “dreamer” or “visionary”. Being a long time fan of not only the show, but the wide breadth of books from Diana Gabaldon, this is an honor to submit something for this show. I picked the word because of it's meaning; The idea you can be a dreamer or visionary really drives home the premise of the books, aside from a love that spans time itself. The calligraphy and design was hand-done first in ink, then color added digitally.
