Bosham (pronounced 'Bozzam' is a picturesque village within Chichester Harbour - a site of Special Scientific Interest. Holy Trinity church seen here dates from the late 800s. King Canute lived close by in the 1000s and it was here that he is said to have commanded thge sea to go back - and famously got his feet wet! This lovely town and harbour lie at the sheltered northern end of Chichester Harbour - a large inlet between Portsmouth and Chichester. A century ago it was well known for its oysters which were served at top restaurants but this industry went ito decline. It was also famous for ship and boat building and also rope making. Another shot of the West Sussex village of Bosham on the shores of Chichester Harbour, with the distinctive tower of Holy Trinity Church reflected in the water. This oil painting comes from a view I captured on one of my many trips walking the coast of Britain. The location is just outside Bosham (near Chichester, Sussex) - a place most known for the tide coming over the road. Its an area of muddy creeks that are popular with sailors, and quiet paths that weave around on the dry parts. Here I spotted a wild rose framing the view, and strove to capture the feel of the area.

Bosham (pronounced Bozzam) is a picturesque coastal village situated on an inlet of Chichester Harbour, in the southern county of West Sussex, England. It's an idyllic spot, with the 10th century Holy Trinity Church, never far from view. Motorists must beware however, because at high tide the sea comes right into the old village, flooding the lower road around the harbour and with it several car parking spaces. Langstone Mill (Portrait), December 2022 The iconic local landmark, Langstone Mill, lies on the shores of Chichester Harbour, with Havant to the north, Portsmouth to the west, Thorney Island to the east, and Hayling Island to the south. Here, a thousand years of industry and activity have now given way to a tranquil bird and nature reserve. Date: 10th December 2022.

Bayleaf Farmhouse, Weald & Downland Museum, July 2022 Bayleaf farmhouse is one of the 'exhibits' at the Weald & Downland living museum, near Chichester, West Sussex. The farmhouse dates from the early 15th century, and was originally from the village of Chiddingstone in Kent. It was dismantled in 1968, and moved to the Weald & Downland Museum, where it was reconstructed in 1972. The Weald & Downland is home to the popular BBC TV series 'Repair Shop'. Date: 15th July 2022.

The interior of Holy Trinity Church at Bosham, West Sussex, looking along the length of the nave to the chancel. The church sits on the edge of the village near the quay, overlooking the water. Its Norman past can be seen in the round chancel arch but the building has its origins earlier than this being founded in c.850. This was replaced in the 10th century by Holy Trinity church and features in the Bayeaux Tapestry where Harold Godwinson and his followers are depicted riding to the building.
