Description: D.O.A. is a Canadian punk rock band formed in Vancouver, Canada in 1978. They are often referred to as being among the "founders" of hardcore punk, and their second album, Hardcore '81, is thought by many to be the first actual reference to the second wave of the American punk sound as 'hardcore.' D.O.A. is known for its outspoken political opinions and the band's lyrics and imagery frequently advocate anti-racism, anti-globalization, freedom of speech, and environmentalism.
