Desert Monsters Magnets
Description: I am the gila monster whisperer and I have the videos to prove it: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD44DCE95D1B219A0 These misnamed gentle lizards will not attack or bite unless provoked. When they do, their bite is venomous, painful, and prolonged. They do not inject venom like a snake. They chew it into their prey. Anyway, most people survive unless they have an allergic reaction. The Gila Monster (Heloderma suspectum) is also protected by law. In the Arizona Sonoran Desert where we live, it is illegal to harass, capture, or harm them. These lizards have facilitated breakthroughs in the the treatment of diabetes, however. Anyone with this animal as their totem has a secret gift for healing, longevity, and resilience.
Description: A blood-red Mongolian Death Worm coils forward with hooked tusks, rows of jagged teeth, and a monstrous open mouth. Paired with distressed lettering, this unsettling creature design draws on the legendary beast said to haunt the Gobi Desert. Made for cryptid researchers, paranormal fans, horror collectors, and admirers of bizarre folklore.

Description: Ever since I was a kid I’ve been fascinated by gila monsters because they were “monsters.” I don’t know how they got that name because they are no such thing. This is Glow who is taking shade under a creosote bush from the hot Sonoran Desert sun in June of 2007 about 50 miles south of Phoenix, Arizona. He has starred in at least two of my gila monster videos which you can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD44DCE95D1B219A0
