Silent Hill, Maine, is a quiet American resort town known for its very peaceful ambiance, but the memories of a tragic house fire seven years ago, in which a girl named Alessa Gillespie "died", still haunts the town and the townsfolk. Having had his wife Jodie die of disease four years ago, Harry Mason is a single parent with an adopted daughter Cheryl. Harry is still in grief from Jodie's death, and to help his mental state, Cheryl begs him to take a relaxing vacation to the resort town of Silent Hill, and Harry gives in.

This was such a powerful and huge waterfall that I've only managed to capture half in this photo -- there is a second set of falls hidden behind the rocks to the left. Wish House, also called Hope House, is a secluded, Order-run orphanage in the woods outside of Silent Hill, although still located near Toluca Lake.It was built by the "Silent Hill Smile Support Society" (sometimes called 4S), a charity organization for children who lack homes. The orphanage was apparently run by Jimmy Stone and George Rosten. The orphanage was used to raise children in the teachings of the cult. It was here that Walter Sullivan was raised and exposed to the teachings that would spur his ritualistic murders.

The Kasa Obake is a is one of the most memorable members of the Japanese supernatural world. Often depicted in traditional art and anime, this cute ghost is usually seen with one eye, one leg, and a long tongue. The Kasa Obake in this artwork can be seen jumping into a puddle with a splash and enjoying rainy weather.

In a tropical downpour in the Coburn Range, Sabah, East Malaysia, Borneo, SouthEast Asia. The windscreen wipers just don't work. Visibility is almost non existent. A huge truck looms out of the gloom. Canon 450D, zoom lens. (Featured in The World as we See it, or as we Missed it.)

Always a DOWNPOUR for me

Walking under the rain, a nod to the musical Singing under the rain with Gene Kelly. Design that depicts a woman walking through torrential rain in the evening in a city. A pouring rain which crashes on the ground, and which however does not seem to touch this lady with the frail silhouette. A romantic design and of obvious aesthetic beauty, which should appeal to a wide audience. Walk in the rain in early fall.

Lakeside Amusement Park is an amusement park in Silent Hill. Located on West Sandford Street in the Resort Area of Paleville, it's a popular tourist attraction with key activities including a rollercoaster, a carousel, a ferris wheel, and a few other carnival rides and sideshows. Robbie the Rabbit is one of Lakeside Amusement Park's four mascots. The others are Kathy the Kitty, Huey the Horse, and Dawn the Duck. However, Robbie is displayed the most prominently throughout the games.
