Description: The Eastside is a region of Los Angeles County. It includes the communities of Boyle Heights, East Los Angeles, El Sereno, Lincoln Heights -- as well as numerous smaller communities like Belvedere, Brooklyn Heights, City Terrace, Eastmont, Happy Valley, Hillside Village, Maravilla, Rose Hill, and University Hills. I wrote a primer, for my series, "California Fool's Gold," in 2011. https://ericbrightwell.com/2011/03/30/california-fools-gold-an-eastside-primer/
Description: Chico and the Man is an American sitcom series that aired for four seasons from September 13, 1974, to July 21, 1978. It starred Jack Albertson as Ed Brown (the Man), the cantankerous owner of a run-down garage in an East Los Angeles barrio, and Freddie Prinze (until Prinze's suicide in the third season) as Chico Rodriguez, an upbeat, optimistic young Chicano who comes in looking for a job. It was the first U.S. television series set in a Mexican-American neighborhood. The show's synopsis went something like this: A hard-drinking Anglo widower, Ed stubbornly refuses to fit in with the changing East L.A. neighborhood and has alienated most of the people who live around him, but after hiring Chico, things start to turn around for Ed's garage.
Description: A bold tribute to the iconic La Onda symbol from Blood In Blood Out. Featuring the legendary serpent in striking black and white, this design represents loyalty, brotherhood, and the unbreakable code that defined a generation. Clean, powerful, and instantly recognizable, it captures the spirit of East L.A. street legacy and timeless barrio culture. Perfect for true fans who understand what La Onda stands for — forever bound, forever respected.

Description: I undertook a ramble along and around a section of Hoover and Virgil streets in Los Angeles that I've always had a fondness for.
