Jerry was an award-winning photographer who sold photos to Time, Life, and National Geographic as well as many other publications. The Galápagos green turtle (Chelonia agassizii) is a species of turtle that used to be classified as a subspecies of the green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) but was changed for a few reasons. One, caudal dimorphism (vertebrae of the same species changing), means that Chelonia agassizii (or "Chelonia agassizi" ) has a more domed shell. Another is the colour of the shell – Galápagos green turtles have a darker shell colour. It is endemic to the tropical and subtropical waters of the Pacific Ocean. A bullet ant, Paraponera clavata, in the Amazonian tropical rain forest in Ecuador, South America. The bullet ant's sting is highest on Schmidt's sting pain index, at 4.0+. Justin O. Schmidt described the pain like ”Walking over flaming charcoal with three inches of nails embedded in your heel". The pain has been compared to being shot, hence the name. It is described as causing "waves of burning, throbbing, all-consuming pain that continues unabated for up to 24 hours".

Frigate Birds (fregata magnificens) are a family of seabirds called Fregatidae which are found across all tropical and subtropical oceans. The five extant species are classified in a single genus, Fregata. All have predominantly black plumage, long, deeply forked tails and long hooked bills. Females have white underbellies and males have a distinctive red gular pouch, which they inflate during the breeding season to attract females. Their wings are long and pointed and can span up to 2.3 metres (7.5 ft), the largest wing area to body weight ratio of any bird. As well as along the Pacific coast of the Americas from Mexico to Ecuador, including the Galápagos Islands.

The marine iguana (Amblyrhynchus cristatus), also known as the sea iguana, saltwater iguana, or Galápagos marine iguana, is a species of iguana found only on the Galápagos Islands (Ecuador) that has the ability, unique among modern lizards, to forage in the sea, making it a marine reptile.2 This iguana feeds almost exclusively on algae and large males dive to find this food source, while females and smaller males feed during low tide in the intertidal zone.3 They mainly live in colonies on rocky shores where they warm after visiting the relatively cold water or intertidal zone, but can also be seen in marshes, mangrove and beaches. Highly colored individual of the venustissimus subspecies endemic to Española and Floreana Islands.

Giant tortoises (Chelonoidis nigra) are characteristic reptiles that are currently found on two groups of tropical islands: the Aldabra Atoll and Fregate Island in Seychelles and the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador

Their actual ages are unknown, but they are thought to be over 100 years old. Galapagos tortoises can live as long as 200 years and are the largest of the species—weighing up to 900 pounds.
