A tree from my culture. I remember this book I had while I was growing up about the flamboyant. I had always admired the illustration and the bright reds it has. When I finally flew to Puerto Rico, I was excited when I finally saw one on the side of the road.

This beautiful flamboyan tree was painted from a reference photo taken of the tree in bloom along the highway from San Juan to Ponce, Puerto Rico

During the blooming season, I have the joy of seeing these two flamboyan trees near my house. They are absolutely beautiful with the combination of the two colors.

Flamboyant trees are my favorite of all. In the tropics they bloom from June well into October and delight everyone with their beautiful foliage.
