Pastel on Mi-Teinte 'Tex' paper (burgundy) - 75cm x 55cm approx. This one came off the easel yesterday. My pastels really enjoyed this! Because of the full sheet size, I was able to swipe those pastel sticks around with gay abandon, concentrating on blue/orange complementary colours. The reference was obtained from a spot on the Goulburn River near Seymour, Victoria. I made a few small sketches to capture the colours, and took some reference photos too.

Pastel on Colourfix paper (burgundy) - 50cm x 35cm _(1315 views July 2011)_ This is a 'labour of love' (although it wasn't really a labour)! I finished it last weekend. It is for my mum and she is giving it to someone as a wedding present, so I have to work out a way to get it to the U.K. without it falling to pieces on the way!!!! Any bright ideas??? My latest cunning plan is to frame it under perspex. The wattle trees are blooming at the moment, although the blossom is almost passed it's best. A sign that spring is on the way. Pastel on Canson Mi-Teinte 'Tex' paper - 75cm x 55cm approx. The result of a camping trip to the Goulburn River on the property known as 'Worrough' at Trawool, Victoria. Pastel on Mi-Teinte 'Tex' paper - 55cm x 35cm approx. These beautiful trees can be found in abundance along the banks of the Goulburn River. The colours in the trunk, and the gnarly bits of bark, drew my attention to this magnificent tree.
