Finally made it down to Andrew Hayden park in Ottawa, Ont, Canada after hearing about the egrets spotted there. Sunday morning 7am I found 6 egrets but unfortunately 3 flew away as I got there. Taken with Canon 7D and Canon 300 2.8 L lens

An early morning and not a breath of wind, the sun is just getting up as this great egret starts to look for it's breakfast. Edited in Photoshop CC and Topaz Studio. Taken at Indian Shores in Florida.

This great egret liked to hang around the marina at Lake Kissimmee State Park, especially when the fishermen came in for the evening.

A great egret returning to it's nest with some new nesting material.I watched this Egret stealing nesting material from an empty Spoonbills nest and taking it back for it's own during a recent trip to Florida. The original photo was taken against a bland white sky, so I added an early morning sunrise sky and blended the images together in Topaz an Photoshop cc.

Egrets are herons that have white or buff plumage, developing fine plumes during the breeding season. Egrets are not a biologically distinct group from herons and have the same build.

Egrets are beautiful birds, especially when a slight breeze ruffles their plumage. This one was actually sitting on a fence when I took the photo and he let me get quite close before gliding away to a more private perch. I decided to try and create a background that would set off the simple beauty of the bird in peaceful surroundings, looking for a last bit of supper before going to roost for the night. This one was taken in Indian shores in Florida, I blended the image in Photoshop CC and Topaz Restyle and Clarity.

I imagined a warm evening in the Everglades, with the last rays of the sun streaming through the trees and there had to be an Egret or a heron looking for it's supper. I added another one flying off to another feeding place just for good measure. I shot both of the egrets in Indian Shores in Florida and made the background from my own photos and textures, with the help of Topaz and Photoshop CC.
