In 1865, William G. Herpolsheimer and Charles G. A. Voigt, two young businessmen, established the Voigt, Herpolsheimer & Company, a dry goods and carpet store in Michigan City, Indiana. The partners would eventually relocate to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1870 where they would really make a name for themselves. The partnership between Voigt and Herpolsheimer ended in 1902 with Voigt taking over the flour mills they owned, and Herpolsheimer taking control of the store. Changing the name to Herpolsheimer's, William was quick to reimagine the store as an upscale shopping experience more like those found in Manhattan, stocking the latest fashions, gorgeous window displays, french chandeliers, and even an authentic tearoom.

This handsome fellow was photographed at Biltmore Estate in North Carolina.

One of the more popular species to keep as pets, ball pythons, or Python regius, lives in regions of africa. They typically live in termite mounds and eat rodents. While typically seen as cursorial animals, they have some arboreal tendencies and, very rarely can be seen climbing trees. They have been deemed the pet "rock", but P. regius, like any other species benefits greatly from enrichment. In addition, they do indeed benefit from larger enclosures as long as the enclosure consists of many hides and heat gradients for them to bask or take shelter. It is worth noting that while many would use an under-cage heating pad to keep them warm, in their natural homes they would take shelter in the darker mounds underground for cooling while going

The lace monitor or lace goanna is a member of the monitor lizard family, Australian members of which are commonly known as goannas.

Love frogs and salamanders? Love turtles and snakes? This is a great way to show it! Design features Garter Snake, Two-lined Salamander, Red-backed Salamander, Snapping Turtle, Wood Frog, Spring Peeper, Green Frog, Grey Treefrog, American Bullfrog and American Toad. These species are native to the Northern Adirondacks of New York but do not reflect every single species present in that area.
