Original drawing measures 8-1/2" x 11". It was drawn with a black ink pen on a sepia colored paper. A little ladybug rests on one of the bamboo branches.

i feel that this piece is one of my finest. It captures the true beauty of bamboo. Original painting was painted with india ink, acrylics and dry brush pen on a heavy stock, 8-1/2" x 11" textured white paper. I am inspired by the elegance and simplicity of japanese ‘sumi-e’ and chinese ‘shui-mo hua’ paintings. “Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind.” - Bruce Lee - I assume reproduction rights to all of my original art. Mind Cascade. I started it in 2017, using a brush-like Faber-Castell PITT india ink pen, and I've recently added a few marks with the fineliner-style pen from the same set. Elderberry Blossom in Ink/Gouache Resist and Watercolor, by Conni Schaftenaar This is a painting I had started a couple of years ago and never finished until last week. It is done with painting layers of white gouache where you want to protect areas of paper - you can do single layers where you want some shadowing, and multiple layers where you want to protect white or almost white areas. You then coat the whole paper with black India ink and let it dry. After the ink is dried, you wash off the gouache and are left with a black and white image of whatever you set out to paint. You can leave it at that, or you can then use watercolor or other liquid media to add color. In this one, I used watercolor and I used a Micron pen to p...

Jonah Complex. This was drawn using a dip-nib-pen and india ink, along with liner pen. Like most of my drawings, it was unplanned; the image emerged as I went along. The title is an afterthought, and barely relevant. Were it not for the fish it might have been called something else.

Its the title. Idk what else to say.

The Opreation is an A4 dipping nib pen drawing in india from about 1988/9. I recall that at the time I made this drawing a friend was undergoing an operation for a hernia which turned out not to exist. I don't know why I went for the strange composition of the drawing, but this is the way it looks on the page.

I always imagined Vishnu and Shiva being good friends, with Brahma being their overbearing counterparts. In many stories, because Shiva's third eye can obliterate the world, Vishnu, for some reason coaxes Shiva to open this third eye. In this representation Vishnu just wants to go on a date with his wife Lahksmi; thus is asking Shiva destroy Brahma's creations so he can have a break preserving the balance of mankind.
