Langur Magnets
Main Tag:
Description: Young langur females carry their mother’s infants to practice for when they have their own kids. The infant’s bright-orange neonatal coat advertises its availability to be babysat during its first 3-5 months. Only leaf-eating monkeys practice this unique behavior—their abundant food source reduces females’ motivation to sabotage each others’ success.
