She wasn't the first human but every other female lineage eventually had no female offspring, failing to pass on their mitochondrial DNA so all humans today can trace their mitochondrial DNA back to her. Within her DNA and that of her peers, existed all the genetic variation we see in contemporary humans which is mad. Also DYK Lupita Nyong'o carries the DNA from the oldest maternal haplogroup also known as Mitochondrial Eve?

I Just love how this turned out. It's amazing how little is needed in terms of imagery to make a complete piece of art, there's no torso or body, just a jacket, hands and crossed calves. Did you know sunflowers originated around 1000 BC in what's now known as Arizona & New Mexico, and were first cultivated as a food source? Then after discovering how to extract the oil for cooking, also used it ofr skin and hair, and the stalk would often be used as a building material. Well, now you do!

It is Icarus' favorite pastime to wander his riverside gardens, especially in early spring. That little bit of warmth to the air brings out the fairies to see who might be coming to visit after a cold winter, and though his friends sometimes think he's putting them on, Icarus has never had any trouble talking to the fairies. He's well renowned in high society as an optometrist, and all those sparks trailing after fairy wings can certainly be hard on the eyes! Still, whether his friends believe him or not, they know he'll always be there to assist them. Icarus always has impeccable timing, what with his watch-fitted top hat, and enjoys helping anyone, skeptics and fairies included!
