The Torslunda plates, discovered in Sweden, are a series of images depicting various warriors and animal figures. They are dated somewhere between the 6th - 8th century AD during the Vendel Period. I've based my version off one segment of the plates depicting a wolf warrior, probably an Úlfhéðnar, and a man in a horned helmet. The man with the helmet is thought to be Odin due to the missing right eye.

This hand-carved block print design is based off the Tanum rock art in Sweden. The petroglyphs are thought to be from the Bronze Age and depict a variety of items, animals, and people. Here I have recreated one of the images of a ship with what looks to be a sort of dragon head on either side. I have printed it by hand before scanning it to make this design.

Fenrir, the famed wolf, in a traditional Norse knot-work Style. One of the monster children of Loki and Angrboda. Fenrir was tricked by the gods, and bound by Gleipnir, a bond of ribbon made from 6 magical ingredients.

In Norse mythology, there lived a great beast. A wolf, but not just any wolf. This wolf is the son of Loki (how a humanoid fathers a wolf I surely don't know, but it's mythology so we won't overthink it) and the father of ALL wolves. The legend of Fenrir has many interesting stories attached to it, but perhaps the most well known is how Fenrir came to bite off the hand of the Nordic god, Týr (from whom we get "Týrsday, or Tuesday as it is now known). Týr was brave enough to place his hand INSIDE the mouth of Fenrir while the other Nordic god's bound Fenrir with a magical ribbon made by the dwarves. Fenrir, who was able to break every other chain up until the magical dwarf ribbon was unable to free himself, and bit off Týr's hand...

Wolf Fenrir. Loki's son.

This design depicts this monstrous canine from Northern European legend in a "Neo-Nordic" style. There are lots of traditional style knots and patterns woven together and given a contemporary edge. The colors are distressed to give the image the look of a gold or bronze artifact that was just dug up out of a Viking chieftains burial mound! The runes towards the bottom of the image says, "FENRIR."

Bears have been a prominent feature in mythology and legend. Perhaps most notably by the Norse berserker warriors that looked to channel the bear’s strength and ferocity by wearing bear skins into battle. The bear has been an admired creature throughout many cultures throughout history.

The Nordic Gods who ran Norse Mythology and went on exhilarating adventures raiding and plundering deserve our respect. If you think you're a son of Odin, show it off! This is an original interpretation of Odin entering Valhalla riding on Sleipnir from the Tjängvide image stone. Sleipnir is Odin’s faithful steed. Reknown for having EIGHT legs!

Finally, here comes Svefnthorn, one of the most authentic Viking symbols which was mentioned many times in several Norse sagas including The Saga of the Volsungs, The Saga of King Hrolf Kraki and Gongu-Hrolf’s Saga. Although the appearance, definition and magical qualities of Svefnthorn is somewhat different in every myth, there is one thing in common in all stories: Svefnthorn was mainly used to put one’s enemies to sleep. The symbol was used by Norse people (and gods) to put their adversaries into a deep and long sleep. Odin puts Valkyrie Brynhildr/Brunhild into a deep sleep in The Saga of the Volsungs. She remains asleep until Sigurd heroically comes to her rescue and awakes her.
