Description: Sweet Oblivion is the sixth studio album by Screaming Trees, released on September 8, 1992. Selling in excess of 300,000 copies on the strength of the hit, 'Nearly Lost You,' it quickly became the band's best-selling record, and was the closest they ever came to achieving mainstream success. 'Nearly Lost You' benefited from an appearance on the soundtrack for Singles, the film that followed the lives of a group of early Gen X'ers in Seattle, Washington at the height of the 1990s grunge phenomenon. The soundtrack was a platinum-selling, top 10 hit record which featured many other popular Seattle bands of the era.
Description: Émile Zola quote: How the thought of meeting lost loved ones would sweeten one’s last moments, how eagerly would one embrace them, and what bliss to live together once more in immortality! He suffered agonies when he considered religion’s charitable lie, which compassionately conceals the terrible truth from feeble creatures. No, everything finished at death, nothing that we had loved was ever reborn, our farewells were for ever. For ever! For ever! That was the dreadful thought that carried his mind hurtling down abysses of emptiness.
