Description: Based on a BW photograph from the Library of Congress, Detroit Publishing Co. c1904 The Old Jacksonville Post Office and Courthouse was completed in 1895 and served the city until it was replaced by a newer federal facility in 1933. This historic landmark was eventually demolished in 1948.
Description: The figurehead of an "Ottoman Turk" looms imposingly over the square at Weybosset and Westminster Streets in Downcity Providence, Rhode Island. The building was completed in 1913 and was the tallest building in Providence until 1920. Its triangular shape is probably inspired by the Flatiron Buidling in New York City.
