This whole image is a concoction...subtle bars in the sky lead the eye to the phone box, breaking all the rules of composition! The view from my back garden and the towns last remaining phone box, or is it? Why would it be in the middle of a field...perhaps it isn't!

Ron Turner was a British comic book artist, best remembered for his science fiction comic strips in science fiction magazines. His most famous strip chronicled the exploits of a society of robots on an alien planet. This design faithfully recreate's Ron's idiosycratic robotic fiends as digital art.

Tyneham Telephone Box Number of views as of 2nd April 2018 = 450. The telephone box in the village of Tyneham, not far from Wareham in the County of Dorset, England. Tyneham was commandeered by the UK military in December 1943, supposedly as a temporary measure to help the war effort. After the war, however, a compulsory purchase order was placed on the land and the villagers were not allowed back. The village remains a part of the Lulworth firing ranges, but is open to the public most weekends. Tyneham was not the only village to have met its demise in this way. Rye in East Sussex is a beautiful little town draped over a small hill. In Roman times it was by the coast and I would have had my feet wet painting this view, but the sea now is around 2 miles away, and the foot of the hill is a bustling area of antique shops, cafes and tourists. Painted in oil on a 16x12 inch board.

Paint Them Yellow Number of views as of 18th March 2018 = 680. People all over the world are familiar with Britain's red telephone boxes. However, on the Channel Island of Guernsey, the boxes are identical to their British counterparts except for their colour. They were originally painted yellow when Guernsey Telecoms was state-owned, but from 2002 they were painted blue. These boxes at St Peter Port bus station were blue but in 2009, yellow made a comeback. Fascinating stuff eh, the long winter evenings must just fly by. Date: 23rd August 2014. Red English Phone booth

At the end of a small single track road to the pretty bay of Carsaig on the Isle of Mull sits this very incongruous red telephone box. The kiosk was featured in the 1945 film "I know where I'm going to" and is now mainly used by tourists and hikers to this remote area. Surely there is no more picturesque setting to "Phone Home"?
