Description: Roc-A-Fella Records was an American hip hop record label and music management company founded by record executives and entrepreneurs Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, Damon Dash, and Kareem "Biggs" Burke in 1994. Carter issued his debut album, Reasonable Doubt (1996) as the label's first release, in a joint venture with Priority Records. The label has signed and released albums for acts including Kanye West, Cam'ron, Beanie Sigel, Memphis Bleek, Juelz Santana, Freeway, Jadakiss, Teairra Marí, State Property, and The Diplomats before its dissolution in 2013.

Known in Jamaica as “the mellow canary” Barrington Levy’s remarkable mellifluous voice has made him a hit maker in both reggae and dancehall. Barrington Levy says, the early 1980s Prison Oval Rock was actually a dub plate for Volcano system, run by the late Henry 'Junjo' Lawes. The sound system was booked for a dance at the oval, very close to the then Spanish Town District Prison (now St Catherine Adult Correctional Centre), and ahead of the event. The name 'Prison Oval' is attributed to it being on the same property as the maximum security Saint Catherine Prison.

Description: Flying Fish Records was a record label founded in Chicago in 1974 that specialized in folk, blues, and country music. In the 1990s the label was sold to Rounder Records. Bruce Kaplan, the label's founder, was a native of Chicago and the son of a president of Zenith Electronics.
