Cool hidden bridge at Glacier National Park

This image, originally captured on film in the autumn of 1987, depicts the Ashness Bridge, in the Lake District National Park, in England. This is a popular spot for capturing images, but it has changed over the years as the view across to Skiddaw and Derwentwater, the mountain and lake in the distance, is now restricted by the abundance of trees that have grown. This image, therefore, represents a historical view. The bridge is a traditional Lakeland bridge, in that the arch does not contain a keystone. Within the park, there are many 'pack horse' bridges such as this, mostly built during the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The fact that they still stand after 300 or more years is a testament to their construction.

During Covid I went out in the rain to capture this image. Empty Brooklyn streets in an area known as DUMBO. That's the Manhattan Bridge at the end of the road.

This is an image, originally captured on film in the autumn of 1987, of a stone bridge in the Lake District National Park, in England. National parks in the UK are areas of not only natural beauty, but also areas that exemplify the cultural history there. With this understanding, most of valley areas of the park are in private ownership, people live and work there, whereas much of the upland areas of the park belong the National Trust, a charity. The principle industry there is sheep (hill farming), which live on the mountains for most of the year. While not certain now, I seem to remember that the bridge in the image was on a road that ran alongside the west side of Derwentwater, one of the larger lakes in the park. Many of the roads...

This stone arch bridge spans the Pidcock Creek in Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve, Bucks County, PA. It was built in 1933 and is one of the most photographed bridges in Bucks County.

There must be about 40 or 45 of those old stone bridges, that I love so much, around Pelion mountain. One of the oldest, is the one in the photo, very close to Tsagarada village, which was constructed in 1787

You can find this bridge (Kleidonia bridge) very close to the road that goes from Ioannina to Konitsa (Epirus region, Greece), about 17 km before you reach Konitsa. It is located at the exit of the magnificent Vikos Gorge, where the plains of Kleidonia start, at a "crossover" landscape and it was constructed in 1853. Responsible for the construction of the bridge was Balkiz Hanum, wife (?) of Malik Pasha, who gathered 37.000 grossia, and took all the expences. The river that flows below is Voidomatis.
