In June of 1969, the patrons of the Stonewall Inn rioted against the NY Police department, in protest of countless raids, harassment, and abuse. The following June, thousands of LGBTQ+ people and allies marched to support the continued fight for equality, in what became known as the first ever Pride celebration.

Designs of inspiration and meaning! March 19th I was ZAPPED by the Coronavirus! This caricature came to me one feverish night and there were many feverish nights! And although I was too sick to design him that night. I promised myself that if I survived, I would make him come to light! Well on April 5th I was symptom free and I got busy creating the first Zapped Kat, born on April 11th 2020. This is the eight Zapped Kat design in the series and is a tribute to Gay Pride everywhere! We have accomplished strides in equality but have so much more to strive for! Black Lives Matter! Rainbow Lives Matter! Buy Art & Stay Safe Everyone!!!

It features a rainbow graphic resembling seismic waves and the slogan "Shakin' It Up!" likely as a reference to San Francisco's many earthquakes. San Francisco hosts one of the oldest pride celebrations in the country, with a rich history that dates back to 1970, the year after the Stonewall Riots. Earlier iterations of the event were held under the name Gay Freedom Day and International Lesbian & Gay Freedom Day, but the title changed over time to accommodate a wider range of LGBT identities until it was eventually just called Pride.

With rainbows of hope in mind, I'm challenging myself to create a NEW design for each day and am putting it on one of my platforms..... and this is day twenty-eight!
