Taoism Magnets
Description: Who has not seen or know about the ancient Chinese philosophy and its symbol, named the yin and yang, also known as the good and bad, dark and bright or positive and negative. It is contrary forces that may be complementary, interconnected and interdependent from each other in nature, while they also interrelate to each other. According to the Chinese cosmology, the universe creates itself from material energy in chaos, but at the same moment it’s organized into cycles of yin and yang that eventually formed into objects and lives. I added 12 sides around the yin-yang symbol (called a dodecagon) that symbolize the 12 Chinese zodiac signs. Each zodiac sign also has an element according to the 12-year cycle of the birth year. Hope you like it.
Description: This unique yin yang by artist Jeff Bartels features a twisted tree growing from the center of the design. The intricate branches that extend into the top of the tear drop pattern are a mirror image of the roots that hang below. This stunning tree of life design is a beautiful representation of the balance of nature.
Description: Quoted from a passage of Tao Te Ching, a beautifully written Daoist work that teaches how to bring wisdom into action. Those who know do not speak. Those who speak do not know. Close your mouth. Shut the gates. Be soft. Untangle your knots. Soften your brilliance. Become one with the dust. This is the profound union. No one can get close to you, yet they cannot be distant either. No one can help or harm you. No one can honor or disgrace you. Thus you achieve the highest state of humankind.
Description: This unique yin yang design by artist Jeff Bartels features the body of an electric and acoustic guitar. The strings of the guitars run up both sides of the pattern with the circular holes visible underneath. The bodies of the guitars take the shape of the yin yang tear drop. This beautiful symbol for balance displays the difference between electric and acoustic guitars.

Description: One of Taoism’s most important concepts is wu wei, which is sometimes translated as “non-doing” or “non-action.” A better way to think of it, however, is as a paradoxical “Action of non-action.” Wu wei refers to the cultivation of a state of being in which our actions are quite effortlessly in alignment with the ebb and flow of the elemental cycles of the natural world. It is a kind of “going with the flow” that is characterized by great ease and awareness, in which — without even trying — we’re able to respond perfectly to whatever situations arise.
