Description: This quote holds a special place in my heart and I know how much it means to all of you as well. As cliche as it sounds, the creation of this design very much felt like a journey of a thousand miles. “Forcing a project to completion, you ruin what was almost ripe. Therefore the Master takes action by letting things take their course. He remains as calm at the end as at the beginning.” I share these timeless words by Lao Tzu as they perfectly align and describe where my heart and mind was at for this project. I simply allowed the artwork to breathe and unfold in its own time without rushing or forcing it to completion in any way.
Description: This unique yin yang design by artist Jeff Bartels features two stylized koi fish. A traditional Japanese fish appears in both sides of this symbol for natural balance. The scales of the fish are defined by the negative space in between small half circles that run down the length of the bodies. The simple fins are painted a solid color that mirrors the opposite side if the yin yang. This stylish pattern is a beautiful interpretation of this ancient symbol.
Description: Who has not seen or know about the ancient Chinese philosophy and its symbol, named the yin and yang, also known as the good and bad, dark and bright or positive and negative. It is contrary forces that may be complementary, interconnected and interdependent from each other in nature, while they also interrelate to each other. According to the Chinese cosmology, the universe creates itself from material energy in chaos, but at the same moment it’s organized into cycles of yin and yang that eventually formed into objects and lives. I added 12 sides around the yin-yang symbol (called a dodecagon) that symbolize the 12 Chinese zodiac signs. Each zodiac sign also has an element according to the 12-year cycle of the birth year. Hope you like it.

Description: This unique yin yang design by artist Jeff Bartels features a traditional phoenix on one side and a Chinese dragon on the other. The phoenix curves around the left side of the pattern with its wings and tail flowing back behind its body. The serpent snakes around the right side of the tear drop with its head curling back towards the center of the design. This beautiful design is a unique example of this ancient symbol for the balance of nature.
Description: This unique yin yang by artist Jeff Bartels features a twisted tree growing from the center of the design. The intricate branches that extend into the top of the tear drop pattern are a mirror image of the roots that hang below. This stunning tree of life design is a beautiful representation of the balance of nature.
Description: This unique yin yang design by artist Jeff Bartels features the body of an electric and acoustic guitar. The strings of the guitars run up both sides of the pattern with the circular holes visible underneath. The bodies of the guitars take the shape of the yin yang tear drop. This beautiful symbol for balance displays the difference between electric and acoustic guitars.
