During this time, the war was just getting started and many soldiers were coming and going to the warfronts around the world. With this increase in movement, sexually transmitted diseases also began to increase. Many states began to produce posters in order to make the public more aware of the disease as well as symptoms it had.

The Morris Commercial C8 FAT, commonly known as a Quad, is an artillery tractor used by the British and Commonwealth forces during the Second World War. It was used to tow field artillery pieces, such as the 25-pounder gun-howitzer, and anti-tank guns, such as the 17-pounder.

The Anaheim Aces were a charter member of baseball's California League, founded in 1941 as a Class "C" minor league. The remaining charter teams were the Bakersfield Badgers, Fresno Cardinals, Merced Bears, Riverside Reds, San Bernardino Stars, Santa Barbara Saints, and Stockton Fliers. The Aces folded after the 1941 season, with America's entry into World War II.
