The footbridge, named Christchurch Bridge as the result of a poll, links Caversham to the north with Reading and in particular the station on the south bank. The name reflects historic links with Christchurch Cathedral in Oxford. The bridge was opened in 2017 by the Mayor of Reading with an inaugural game of poohsticks!

I kind of like the fairy-tale approach to composite image formation and can appreciate the work that goes into creating such an image... merging many layers and working diligently in post to create a built up photograph ~ so I decided that I'd like to emulate something as vibrant yet a single exposure and possible processing in post... but little more, something 'true to nature'. With this in mind and knowing the characteristics of the vintage glass that I was about to use for the first time after researching quite extensively - I decided on the main subject matter central to the plane of focus and allow the distinct attributes of the lens to work its magic on the rustle of the leaves... After a failed first attempt, I just had to go back and nail this shot! With all the shenanigans of set up for landscape photography... tripod, bag, lenses, grad filters, filters, filter holder, etc, etc... etc! I'd gone and forgotten to prefocus, so when I'd got back home and thought all my exposures, at least, were perfect, I opened my images on the lappy to find that they were correctly exposed (by my thinking) but incorrectly focussed - as in all blurred! :-/ So I came back had some lunch and went back to accomplish todays shots - and so finally for today - here they are!!! Finally, in focus, and as I expected... "Watercolour Waterfall" Hope you like it..! Further details to follow in another shot...
