Description: Bamboo Productions was a Detroit-area concert promoter active during the early 1970s, part of the independent promotion scene that helped keep the city’s already legendary music culture moving forward into a new decade. Operating in a period when Detroit audiences had no shortage of rock 'n roll shows to choose from, Bamboo worked overtime to create next-level live performances that left attendees in awe and talking about it in the following days. Like many regional promoters of the era, the company operated in a rough-and-ready world of posters, handbills, radio advertising, and word of mouth, connecting touring acts with Detroit’s enthusiastic concert crowds, and it stayed at the top of the game for several decades before calling it quits
Description: As Camp Crystal Lake prepared to open for the summer of 1971, camp owner John Christy received a shipment of freshly printed t-shirts bearing one rather unfortunate typo: “Camp Crystal Lick.” Understandably less than thrilled, John called the vendor to straighten things out, giving viewers a hilarious glimpse of his frustration. “Yeah, no, it's a lake, not a lick. Who wants to go to Camp Crystal Lick? What kind of business do you think this is?” Things only got worse when the vendor suggested fixing the mistake with a marker, prompting an exasperated “What's wrong with you?!” This design recreates the infamous misprinted Camp Crystal Lick shirt with a suitably worn-in, vintage look, so we're going to assume he eventually handed them out.
Description: Spectreman was a Japanese tokusatsu TV series that aired from 1971 to 1972, combining giant monster battles, superhero action, and surprisingly dark environmental themes. The show followed George Gamow, an alien agent from Nebula 71 who transforms into Spectreman to battle the evil simian scientist Dr. Gori and his sidekick Karas. Unlike many sci-fi hero shows of the era, Spectreman focused heavily on pollution and humanity’s destruction of nature, giving it a more serious tone beneath the monster mayhem. This Electrogorilla Go Kart design is inspired by a Japanese market wind-up toy based on the simians from Planet E, complete with a noisy mechanism kids loved and parents dreaded.

Description: This Harlem All Stars design pays tribute to the neighborhood basketball leagues that gave generations of New York City kids a place to compete, grow, and dream. Long before modern youth sports programs, community courts across Harlem and the five boroughs were where future stars sharpened their skills, and lifelong friendships were made. Inspired by the grit, pride, and unmistakable style of 1970s street basketball, this design celebrates the game that has always been at the heart of the neighborhood.
