What first drew me to this powerful composition, was not the movement of the waves and the wave action crashing and spilling over the rocks... but the colours within the rock which I noticed from a distance... The strata of anglesey rock is largely metamorphic igneous rock... something that I remember from being on field trips with my University at Bangor. I think the rock might be gneiss as it certainly looks like "gneissic banding". These colours underneath the wave action became the focal centre and I worked on the piece from there and that standing to create this art-piece.
