The Oxford Canal At Thrupp Mug
Aubreys Bridge Mug
designed and sold by IanWL
A digital pencil sketch of the lift bridge (221) at Thrupp on the Oxford Canal just north of Kidlington in Oxfordshire. Thrupp is a purely canal village - the road stops here! Aubreys Bridge or, as it is sometimes known, Smithy Bridge takes traffic to a car park and tea rooms. Passing through it, boats now enter the stretch of canal leading to Oxford. This section opened in 1788 and completed the waterway link between the Coventry coalfields and the Thames at Oxford - and then on to London.
