Akhenaten Mugs
Description: This design is based off a piece of Ancient Egyptian artwork located in The Met depicting Akhenaten presenting an offering to the god Aten. The original artwork was damaged and I have maintained this in my version making a unique take on "traditional" renderings of Ancient Egyptian designs!
Description: This design is based of a talatat from Amarna in Ancient Egypt. Amarna was an 18th Dynasty city established by one of the most notorious pharaohs, Akhenaten. A talatat was a standardized piece of limestone that was used for construction and often decorated in beautiful imagery, sometimes relating to the worship of the Aten. Here the talatat represented a field of ripe barley, swaying in the breeze. I've recreated this as a block print and printed it by hand in before scanning it.
