Remembering the great A&P grocery store. In the 1950's and 1960's the A&P was synonymous with grocery store. The original name was The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., but we all just called it the A&P.

This design features A&P's 1976 rebrand logo which featured a new sunrise effect with a set of colored bands leading up to an offset A&P mark in a new, more modern typeface - the first major update since 1859.

Remembering Plaid Stamps. Other stores issued S&H Green Stamps or Top Value Stamps, but the A&P grocery store chain issued Plaid Stamps for purchases in their stores. We spent hours pasting them in the books to redeem them for a toaster.
