About the animal: Cuttlefish- Sepia officinalis IUCN Status- Least Concern Native to the Mediterranean Sea, North Sea and Baltic Sea. These animals have incredible camouflage abilities, able to blend in with any environment. This is especially amazing as they are believed to be colourblind, instead able to tell the difference between different wavelengthstyles of light using polarization. Their skin can also change texture, and they are capable of creating a mesmerising display...

The language groups (colour key at bottom left) are: Semitic (pink), Hamitic (yellow, modern Berber, Egyptian, and Cushitic), Nuba-Falah (orange), Negro (brown, western Africa), Bantu (green) and Hottentot-Bushman (brown, southern Africa, modern Khoi-San). The area covered by the terms Nuba-Falah, Negro and Bantu falls mostly under what is now called the Niger-Congo languages, of which the Bantu languages remain a major subdivision.

1.- African clawless otter (Aonyx capensis) sub-Saharan Africa, except Congo River area. 2.- Asian small-clawed otter (Amblonyx cinerea) India and SE Asia. 3.- Cameroon clawless otter (Aonyx congicus) Congo River area in Africa. Curiosities: Clawless otters are characterized by only partial webbing (between the toes of their back feet and no webbing on their front feet), and small, blunt, peg-like claws. Latin name "Aonyx" means without claws. Asian small-clawed otters are the smallest extant otter species, about 100 cms included the tail and only weights 1 to 5.4 kg.
