Barry Sheene Mugs
Description: I've been threatening to do this for years, hand colouring my original black and white photo, taken trackside at Mallory Park, to the actual sampled colours of the day. Sheene starts from 14th at Mallory Park, UK, and wins. Even King Kenny Roberts of the USA described Sheene as the greatest motorcycle racer of all time. Here he wheelies out of a bend. Losing was never in his plans.
Description: Barry Sheene MBE (11 September 1950 – 10 March 2003) was a legendary British professional motorcycle racer who won back-to-back 500cc Grand Prix World Championships in 1976 and 1977. He remains a massive icon in motorsport history, celebrated as the last British rider to win the premier class championship. Known for his flamboyant "playboy" lifestyle and incredible resilience, he single-handedly dragged motorcycle racing into the mainstream spotlight.
Description: This is the sketched version. Thanks to ALL my 50+ buyers of this image and for the lovely messages! Glad you like it. Please note, the other photographic version, and a cutout detailing his achievements. But I could not resist sketching him too. Sheene starts from 14th at Mallory Park, UK, and wins. Even King Kenny Roberts of the USA described Sheene as the greatest motorcycle racer of all time. Here he wheelies out of a bend. Losing was never in his plans.
