The unit was redesignated on 1 August 1966 as the 44th Signal Battalion, allotted to the Regular Army, and activated in Vietnam. It was inactivated on 1 March 1970 in Vietnam. It was reactivated on 17 March 1972 in Vietnam, and then inactivated on 3 June 1972 at Oakland, in Vietnam, the unit participated in the following campaigns: Counteroffensive Phase II, Counteroffensive Phase III, Tet Counteroffensive, Counteroffensive Phase IV, and many more.

Assigned to 23rd Artillery Group of II Field Force, Vietnam, composed of towed 105mm howitzers. Arriving at Tan Son Nhut and sent to Phu Loi on 11 December 1965. On January 6, 1967 Relocated to Tay Ninh, but in December sent to Saigon. Afterwards returning to Phu Loi .The battalion formed a "Jungle Battery" Airmobile in and out of hotspots to support Infantry units in contact as needed.

The 34th Armor Regiment is an armored regiment of the United States Army formed in 1941..The 2nd Battalion, 34th Armor has served in World War II, Vietnam, Operation Desert Storm I, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The 77th Armor is an armored (tank) regiment of the United States Army. The 77th Armor Regiment is part of the U.S. Army Regimental System with only a single battalion, the 1st Battalion, 77th Armor Regiment, and is therefore classified as both a single battalion, and the remainder of the Regiment itself. 1–77 AR is currently stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas as part of the 3rd Brigade "Bulldogs", 1st Armored Division and has transformed from a tank pure battalion into a combined arms battalion (CAB).

The 1st and 2nd Battalions and as already noted the 3rd Battalion were assigned to the 24th Mechanized Infantry Division (United States) at Fort Stewart, Georgia on 16 December 1987. Elements of all three battalions of the 7th Infantry Regiment saw action in the Cat Gulf as part of Operation Desert Storm, Kosovo and more recently Operation Iraqi Freedom. On 16 February 1996, the battalions were assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division.

South Vietnam I Corp - July 1968 1st Battalion 77th Armor (1-77) deployed from Fort Carson Colorado USA to Wonder Beach Quang Tri Provence South Vietnam . Mid August Battalion deployed to positions in Leatherneck Square south of Demilitarize Zone (DMZ) in support of 3rd Marine Division infantry operations during heavy fighting Involved within 3d Marine Division operations on the Khe Sanh plains and up to the vicinity of the DMZ with the US Marines. In total, the 1st Battalion, 77th Armor participated in eight campaigns during its tour in Vietnam.

The 61st Cavalry Regiment is a regiment of the United States Army first established in 2004. The 61st Cavalry traces its lineage to the 601st Tank Destroyer Battalion. The 601st was activated 19 August 1941 and deployed to England on 2 August 1942. In North Africa, the battalion participated in the battles of Ousseltia Valley, Sbeitla, Kasserine Pass, Mateur, and El Guettar, for which it was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for destroying 37 tanks in 24 hours.

Operation Noble Eagle began with the mobilization of thousands of National Guard and reserve personnel to perform security missions on military installations, airports and other potential targets such as bridges, power plants, and port facilities. The United States Army's 759th Military Police Battalion, 144th Military Police Company and the 177th Military Police Brigade were assigned the task of protecting the White House, the Pentagon and the Capitol, along with other Army National Guard units that were tasked with augmenting the Air Force's air defense perimeter around the National Capital Region
