Bikini Atoll Atomic Test Mugs
Description: The ultimate destructive vacation! This striking design features a massive, neon-colored nuclear mushroom cloud flanked by palm trees, captioned with the ironic travel slogan "COASTAL BLISS". It references the Bikini Atoll nuclear tests (1946-1958), blending vaporwave aesthetics with dark historical commentary. Perfect for fans of atomic age history, glitch art, and edgy, ironic humor.
Description: Operation Crossroads was a pair of nuclear weapon tests conducted by the United States at Bikini Atoll in mid-1946. They were the first nuclear weapon tests since Trinity on July 16, 1945, and the first detonations of nuclear devices since the atomic bombing of Nagasaki on August 9, 1945. The purpose of the tests was to investigate the effect of nuclear weapons on warships. The Crossroads tests were the first of many nuclear tests held in the Marshall Islands, and the first to be publicly announced beforehand and observed by an invited audience, including a large press corps.

Description: "The atomic bomb that Rita Hayworth’s image allegedly adorned is the weapon detonated during the July 1, 1946 “Able” test on Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands. The bomb was dropped from a B-29 Superfortress airplane named “Dave’s Dream” and piloted by Major Woodrow P. “Woody” Swancutt. It was the fourth atomic bomb ever exploded and the first detonation ever to be reported on in real time by the media. The earlier bombs of Alamogordo, New Mexico (the Trinity test), Hiroshima and Nagasaki were, of course, top secret wartime affairs." - Bill Geerhart, Atomic Goddess: Rita Hayworth and the Legend of the Bikini Bombshell
