Description: The Bonneville Salt Flats are a densely packed salt pan in Tooele County in northwestern Utah. A remnant of the Pleistocene Lake Bonneville, it is the largest of many salt flats west of the Great Salt Lake. Bonneville Speedway (also known as the Bonneville Salt Flats Race Track) is an area of the Bonneville Salt Flats northeast of Wendover, Utah, that is marked out for motor sports. The salt flats were first used for motor sports in 1912, but did not become truly popular until the '30s when Ab Jenkins and Sir Malcolm Campbell competed to set land speed records.
Description: Pontiac was an American automobile brand introduced as a companion make for GM's more expensive line of Oakland automobiles in 1925, but Pontiac overtook Oakland in popularity and supplanted its parent brand entirely by 1933.
