Bud Mugs
Description: Port Huron's Lakeside Brewing Co. was only around from 1936 to 1937, but its facility on Bard Street dated all the way back to 1875, when the company was founded under its proprietor's name, Charles Samberg. This is the label for American Bud produced by Lakeside Brewing Company. The State of Michigan required makers of beer and wine to register labels of alcoholic products with the Commerce Commission. While this practice was discontinued in the 1950's, the Archives maintains the historic collection of Michigan-made brews from the early to mid-twentieth century.
Description: Bud's Buds was an experimental management training group organized by Bud Askins within the broader Vault-Tec Corporation. The group's stated goal was to achieve an "absolute monopoly" by outliving and overpowering all other factions. In the words of Bud Askins himself, "The ultimate weapon of mass destruction is time." It was this group, through the introduction of the idea by Barb Howard at a meeting involving many corporate officials, that first envisioned experiments occurring in the Vaults, and later would result in the experiments being carried through.
