Description: Wet Beaver Creek is a perennial stream with one major tributary, Dry Beaver Creek. The confluence of the two is at McGuireville, Arizona. Beaver Creek flows past Montezuma Well and Montezuma Castle before joining the Verde River near Camp Verde, Arizona. The crown jewel of Wet Beaver Creek is simply known as 'The Crack,' which is a gorge with towering red sandstone cliffs at the end of an easy 3.5-mile hike. With a deep, clear swimming hole and cliff-jumping spots that are almost too good to be true, The Crack is a true oasis in the high desert and a must-see destination in this otherwise arid environment.
