Description: The 1988 United States presidential election was the 51st quadrennial presidential election, held on Tuesday, November 8, 1988. In addition to the traditional candidates, an outside who also happened to be a cat ran as well. Morris' candidacy was announced by way of a press conference which even included an introduction by Eleanor Mondale: "May I introduce a candidate with the quiet demeanor of a Coolidge, the animal magnetism of a Kennedy, and with the honesty of a Lincoln, a candidate who may shed but will never shred, a candidate who stands four square behind the values of life, liberty and the pursuit of din-din." While Morris didn't make the ballot, he ran a tight campaign that he can surely be proud of.
