Description: An artistic representation of Darnella Frazier as she bravely recorded the murder of George Floyd. She received an honorary Pulitzer Prize for the video recording. Thanks to 17 year old Darnella's bravery, former police officer Derek Chauvin was fired, charged with 2nd degree murder, found guilty, and sentenced to 22.5 years in prison.
Description: "Your knee is on my neck, I can't breathe, mama ... mama ..." George Floyd asked repeatedly to the police who held him on the ground. The policeman, Derek Chauvin, ignored Floyd's request, which evidently had difficulty breathing. He continued to press his knees against Floyd's neck until Floyd fell silent and did not move. The police told him to get up and get in the car, but Floyd did not react. Floyd was finally taken to the hospital and then declared dead on Monday (5/25/2020). Floyd's death sparked outrage in the United States public. Throughout the country, people were demonstrating.
