Description: Both sportsmen and tourists have been traveling to the Parlin area for outdoor adventure, lodging, and natural beauty for over a hundred years. At the turn of the century Parlin boasted numerous cabins, the Lake Parlin House Hotel, and the totally self-sufficient Peal farm which still has some of the original buildings located on the west site of Route 201 to this day. Lake Parlin House hotel burned in the 50’s while the main house at the Peal farm burned in the early 70’s. The Kruse family has owned property in the Jackman Region and been seasonal residents since the early 70’s. The Lake Parlin Lodge property was acquired by the Kruse’s in 2006 after several prior ownerships, including Unicorn Rafting in the 80’s and early 90’s.
Description: This is my acrylic painting of CRISCO’S family portrait. They are posing at their Ozark farm home. CRISCO’S dad and mom are Papa Billy Goat and Nanny Goat. CRISCO’s kid sisters are Cali-flower and Shugar. His kid bros are Lil’ Billy the Kid, Whipped Cream and Sour Cream. CRISCO is the little all white baby goat. They like to play together. Description: Edwin Teel founded Vitamilk Dairy in Seattle, Washington during the Great Depression. He bought a milk truck in 1934 and began delivering milk from a local dairy to customers in the greater Seattle area. Three years later, Teel built a processing plant in the Green Lake neighborhood, and Vitamilk began producing their own dairy products. Vitamilk primarily served a niche market as a supplier to independent grocery stores, and were known for their high quality, great tasting products. As grocery stores increasingly became consolidated throughout the '90s, the small independent stores became fewer and fewer, eventually resulting in the end of Vitamilk in the 2000s.
