Khepri rolled the sun across the horizon at daybreak like the beetle rolled its dung. The entire Egyptian civilization was always oriented towards solar deities. After all, their lush oasis was surrounded by vast, arid deserts where such beetles proliferate. In that light, this animal was a good one to honor and emulate!
