Description: FROM THE COLD GRAVE CAME A DEAD THING AMONG US! Inspired by a classic 1970s horror magazine cover, this illustration is my own interpretation of an image I've admired for years. Think of it as a musician covering a favorite song. The original composition deserves its credit; I simply wanted to play it in my own style. Redrawn and rendered with my own approach to character, color, and atmosphere, this piece celebrates the wonderfully outrageous horror magazines that helped shape my work as an illustrator. Reimagined artwork by Scott Jackson. Inspired by the original Tales from the Tomb cover. Not an official or licensed reproduction.

Description: The Old Witch is the primary host of the Haunt of Fear comic book series and was one of three hosts of the Tales From The Crypt series along with The Crypt Keeper and The Vault Keeper. She also appeared in the '90s era Tales From The Cryptkeeper animated series. Her name was revealed as Fran in the '90s paperback, "Jokes From The Crypt." Her origin story, "A Little Stranger," appeared in Haunt of Fear volume 1, issue 14, and here we have her poised behind a tombstone with the classic Tales From The Crypt comic masthead over it along with the years of the comic book series run from 1950 to 1955.
