My own re-imagination of this cute princess

Walking around the picturesque streets of Chora in Kythira (or "Cythera") island (Greece), you can see 3 different styles of Architecture: Venetian, Cretan and Cycladic. This particular spot with the "Fossa" (arch) reminds mostly the cycladic architecture.

One more of the "trademarks" of Mykonos is this beautiful byzantine church, Panagia Paraportiani. It is one of the oldest in the island. It is also one of the most "famous" churches in the Aegean and certainly the most famous of Mykonos. "Paraportiani" means "by the door" and it took its name from a nearby door of the old and now almost "dissapeared" castle. Many people think that the building is only one church, while Panagia Paraportiani is only a small church on the "1st floor" where the dome is and there are two diferent churches on ground level all of them "stuck" together. n the vast majority of the islands of the Aegean their "capitals" are called "Hora" (or "Chora"). Most of the Horas are located in the interior of the island, high up on some hill, relatively far from the sea. The main reasons, were defensive reasons, as the people of the islands wanted to avoid attacks from the pirates that once upon a time were lurking the Archipelago. Of course there are some exceptions. For example, the "Hora" of Myconos is a seaside town, because the Myconians used to do business with the pirates, or in some cases were pirates themselves. There some houses in Mykonos that are a little bit diferent that the small, cubic, white and blue houses, what we know as typical Aegean architecture. Some of them are called "Kapetaneika" ("Old captains' houses") and are located right by the sea, where the castle of Mykonos used to be, very close to "Little Venice" Camera: Canon EOS 30 D

My favorite girl sooo far, she is strong, creative and funny. Who wouldn't love her?

Here you can see the 2 parts, the 2 neighborhoods of the Hora ("Capital") of Serifos island. On the left side, you can see the Ano (Upper) Hora, the old part, which was "hidden" on the back of the hill, far from the eyes of the pirates. On the right side of hill, lies the Kato (Lower) Hora, the "newer", "visible" part, where the colorful church, makes a great contrast with the white little houses. Deeper, on sea level, you can see a different village, called Livadi, which is the islands' harbor. In the background, on the horizon you can see a another beautiful island of the Kyklades, Sifnos.
